Salamanca, Sao Vicente

I can't remember what document it was on but my grandfather indicated that he was from Salamanca, Sao Vicente.  So this page will be for all persons who I find who lived in that village.

When I posted a query on CV DNA, these are some of the responses that I received to the question:  Can anyone tell me about this place?

"Salamanca is a small village in the island of Sao Vicente ..."

"the late great Cesaria sang of a picnic in Salamanca.  great song"

"Salamansa is a beautiful fishing village in the Northern part of Sao Vicente.  Everyone knows one another".

Suggestion:  Do a google search to see photos of the village, including the capela, the loja, an eatery, a bar, the mountains, the beach.

There is a Salamanca in either Portugal / Spain - east of the town of Almeida.
