doR1866-74 - 321/24 - On 1/27/1871, Anna  b.  ____1871  (she would later be Anna Felicidade da Silva) ---- On this date, a man named Joaquim Gaspar da Conceicao, single, of Praia Branca appeared & declared that the newborn, Anna, was his daughter & as such he wanted to legitimate her "por parte da mae" (on behalf of the mother/on the part of the mother) who sent Joao Antonio Manoel, single, of Praia Branca as the mother was not present at the baptism.  It is not shown why the mother, Felicidade Joaquina da Silva, was not present.  But Mr. Manoel declared that the mother wished the Church to know that the child was both hers & Mr. da Conceicao's.  The mother's parents were Antonio Nicolau Diniz & Joaquina Domingas Carvalho.  The father's parents were Gaspar Antonio da Conceicao & Maria da Cruz Silva, gods -  Manoel Antonio Joaquim & Ana Joaquina da Silva, w - Jose Luis dos Reis & Antonio Maria do Carmo.  thx rowad!
