LUZ / da LUZ

 I graduated from high school with a Cape Verdean with this name but she was always Daluz.  She was definitely always with the Ds and not with the L's.  Therefore it is hard for me to think of the name as anything other than the merged da and Luz.  However here I am making a concentrated effort to index under LUZ.  I believe that the name means "of the light".
